Airclic / V557-AC25 Cover

Marketing Needs:

Airclic chose the Motorola V557 flip phone to be paired with the Motorola AC25 bar code scanner (developed and exclusively distributed by Airclic).  The AC25 scanner connects to the data port of the V557 and the fusion of the two devices creates a powerful tool for distributed inventory and tracking tasks.  Definitive Design and our affiliated companies, Paramount Industries and TTM, were once again chosen to develop, prototype, and manufacture a two-shot overmolded case for the combined devices.

Engineering and Manufacturing Considerations:

• The cover needed to allow the phone to be flipped open and closed. 
• The design of the case had to allow the user full access to the functions of both the phone and the scanner.
• The look of the V557 needed to be attractive and maintain aesthetic continuity with Airclic’s existing family of covers which were also developed by Definitive Design, prototyped by Paramount Industries, and manufactured by TTM.
