Round Two
After successfully completing the design of the Micros Eclipse Workstation,
we were called upon again to help with the design of a Client Point
of Sale terminal.
Project Scope
- create an unobtrusive and durable client workstation compatible with
the client’s existing products
- design adjustable stand and multiple mounting configurations.
- include an adjustable scratch resistant active matrix touch-screen
display,
- upgrade computer hardware
- include electronic interfaces and mounting features for a wide variety
of peripheral devices such as magnetic strip card readers
Development Path
- create design concept sketches
- render presentation plates for upper management review
- refine the appearance with form study models to more accurately communicate
the design intent
- create 3D data for the development of moldable and easy to
assemble components
- build engineering check models
- refine engineering
- provided manufacturing support, vendor liaison
The Result
The new Workstation 4 provides a lower cost
solution with added flexibility to complement Micros product offerings. This design is widely accepted
and a financial success for our client. See it at a restaurant
