SMX / Laser Tracker

Client Objective

Produce an attractive, functional, and unique housing for SMX’s new laser tracker.

Product Definition

The laser tracker is used to scan large objects such as airplanes.  It works by following a hand-held token that reflects the laser beam back to the tracker.  The tracker records the position of the token at regular intervals and stores the data for use in reverse engineering or quality control.

The Result

The SMX Laser Tracker is visually well thought out product in a class that typically lives in black boxes.  This product is now easily differentiated from competitors.
