Project Scope

Design from the ground up, the first battery powered underwater pool vacuum.  The product was designed to be hand-held or pole mounted.

Development Path

• Create Conceptual sketches
• Develop form study models to achieve proper size and ergonomics.
• Create mechanism breadboard to optimize efficiency and assembly methods.
• Prototype testing and evaluations in swimming pools
• 3D CAD product engineering
• Designed impeller pumping systems
• Multiple vacuum heads were designed for different types of pool surfaces.
• Designed water-proof electronic enclosure.
• Electronic design for battery charging and water proof switching.
• Create fully functional prototypes from SLA and urethane castings for additional testing and sales samples.
• Create full engineering documentation for Off-Shore manufacturing.

The Result

The Poolbuster vacuum has revolutionized and simplified the pool cleaning market.  WaterTech has boasted its success with this new product that can be used to clean the whole pool.
