Exploratory research serves as a front-end tool and is helpful when specifics are less defined. As we begin to establish parameters, the insights from exploratory research can propel a product into a new market or create a paradigm shift in established thinking.
Validation research is used to benchmark proposed concepts in front of the target audience to solicit an honest dialogue about how well the concepts meet their expectations. The voice of the customer is an important component in making sure the path taken isn’t a dead-end.
