Sensis / Salus
Project
Project Scope:
The Salus brings together all of the vital signs of an ICU patient in
one location. All data available in a single system allows them
to be correlated with one another, providing a synergistic approach to
patient care. A wireless connection to a central monitoring station
is also provided.
Development Path:
Preliminary design work focused on packaging the prototype’s electronic,
display, and battery backup components in a compact arrangement that
could be IV pole mounted. Subsequent design refinements were based
on continued size reduction as the electronics evolved. Ergonomics
and aesthetics were blended together in the final design.
The Result:
Sleek, compact, and ergonomic, the completed Sensis/Salus design is
an economical device that offers simplification in the increasingly complex
medical world.
