SMX Laser Tracker

Project scope: SMX engaged Definitive to produce an attractive, functional, and unique housing for their new laser tracker.

The laser tracker is used to measure large objects such as airplanes to ensure parts are within manufacturing specifications.  It works by following a hand-held token that reflects the laser beam back to the tracker. When SMX came to Definitive the tracking technology was encased in a non-descript box.  Through innovative industrial design for the category we provided a strong brand identity that is well ingrained in the new housing. Definitive’s sturdy and practical housing solution for the SMX Laser Tracker definitely stands out on the tarmac.
