Labnet Prism Centerfuge

Project scope: Definitive was contracted to develop an air-cooled microcentrifuge that incorporated high speed performance and quiet operation in a compact modern design.

By working with Labnet’s employees and reviewing feedback from thousands of their customers, Definitive developed a full-service package within Labnet’s cost and time constraints. Our engineers and designers developed a unique air management system that brings outside air into the unit, allowing high speed performance and effective air cooling. We were able to keep the noise level significantly lower than expected by selectively using damping materials and, with calculated internal geometry, employing multiple walls in all directions relative to the bowl. The design of the control panel and fit-lid latching system make the centrifuge easy to operate.
